John grew up in Moretown, Vermont and went on to attend the University of Vermont. While at UVM he earned a bachelor of science degree as well as a double minor in economics and political science, graduating in 2003. The majority of his political science studies occurred overseas so that he could gain an outside perspective of how the world operates as a whole. John began his career with Baystate Financial in 2008 where he grew to be a leading advisor with national recognition. He then went on to form his own firm, Hoogenboom Wealth Management in 2021, where he continues to serve businesses and families from coast to coast. John has done this by following three key principles of financial planning when working with clients.
Analysis – WHERE YOU ARE NOW
Objectives – WHERE YOU WANT TO BE
Strategy – HOW TO GET TO WHERE YOU WANT TO BE
John believes: “Taking the time to truly understand a client and their unique situation and goals, is the only true way to provide the most suitable advice and take the first steps toward achieving one's true objectives. The success in achieving one's true objectives can only be accomplished through active monitoring and regular reviews of a client's financial strategy, so that it may change and adapt when needed to embrace the ever-changing conditions of life, both economic and personal.” John prides himself on starting life long relationships with his clients and his ability to bring new and innovative ideas to the table.
