John grew up in Moretown, Vermont and went on to attend the University of Vermont. While at UVM he earned a bachelor of science degree as well as a double minor in economics and political science, graduating in 2003. The majority of his political science studies occurred overseas so that he could gain an outside perspective of how the world operates as a whole.  John started his career with Baystate Financial in 2008 and is now a leading  financial advisor with the firm throughout New England.  John has done this by following three key principles of financial planning when working with clients.

Analysis – WHERE YOU ARE NOW

Objectives – WHERE YOU WANT TO BE

Strategy – HOW TO GET TO WHERE YOU WANT TO BE

John believes:  “Taking the time to truly understand a client and their unique situation and goals, is the only true way to provide the most suitable advice and take the first steps toward achieving one's true objectives.  The success in achieving one's true objectives can only be accomplished through active monitoring and regular reviews of a client's financial strategy, so that it may change and adapt when needed to embrace the ever-changing conditions of life, both economic and personal.” John prides himself on starting life long relationships with his clients and his ability to bring new and innovative ideas to the table.

Lisa Hoogenboom

Lisa Hoogenboom

Client Services & Medicare Coordinator

Lisa joined the Hoogenboom Team to help with all things related to Medicare. For most people, Medicare remains a mystery. Too often, this lack of understanding translates into costly and permanent Medicare mistakes. In fact, just one mistake could literally cost you thousands of dollars a year for the rest of your life — and even keep you from getting needed healthcare services.

Before starting with Medicare, Lisa spent five years in the insurance industry. This has been a natural transition for Lisa as her number one priority is to 'do the right thing' and 'help others.'

Lisa enjoys cooking, baking, and eating (in that order). She also enjoys skiing, hiking and yoga. She lives in Granville, Vermont with her husband, John, and three awesome dogs.
